Ryan D. Sobiech Scholarship Fund Goaltending Skills Clinic

Carolina Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA) and Brian Haaland are very excited to introduce this goalie clinic held in conjunction with the Ryan D. Sobiech Scholarship Fund. Open to all 2004 through 2013 birth year goalies on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at the Extreme Ice Center in Indian Trail, NC.

Due to demand a second goalie clinic has been added. Each clinic will be limited to 30 goalies maximum. The Schedule is as follows:

Check in time is 4:30 PM

Clinic 1 - 5:00 PM off-ice Presentation, 6:15 PM - 7:30 PM on ice for birth years 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Clinic 2 - 5:00 PM off-ice presentation, 7:40 PM - 8:55 PM on ice for birth years 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007.

The cost is $35 for each goalie.

Program Highlights:

On-Ice Program - goalies will be grouped by age in a station based goalie training session that will be age and skill specific.

Off-Ice Program - Goaltending Techniques Presentation by Brian Haaland with focus on the best techniques for goalies at every age group.

Lead Instructor - Brian Haaland

Brian has a Bachelor of Science in education and physical education, Brian Haaland understands how young minds learn. As a Division 1 goalie at University of Nebraska at Omaha 1999-2003, Brian was known for his tenacity and never give up attitude. He began his coaching and training career early, beginning with hockey camps all through high school and college. He has been providing private goaltending lessons in Charlotte, North Carolina since Jan. 2009. Since finishing college, Brian has been a professional coach for NASCAR teams for the last 10 years. Working as a Pit stop coach and weight room coach, Brian designs practice plans and workouts so his team can outperform the rest.  Learn more about Brian at www.oldschoolgoalschool.com
