CAHA has partnered with the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) to foster a culture of respect in our member associations. PCA is a national non-profit organization with the mission of creating a positive, character-building youth sports environment that results in BETTER ATHLETES, BETTER PEOPLE. To do this, we support players, coaches, and volunteers in our Associations who are role models for the principles of

RESPECT FOR "ROOTS": Rules, Opponents, Officials, Teammates, Self

HOW IT WORKS:

• Associations and individuals may nominate candidates for these awards via SportsEngine. Self-nominations are accepted.
• CAHA will award monthly and annual awards for each age group (LTP/6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, and 16U/18U). There will be 3 categories in each age group: Coach, Player, Volunteer plus a category for Officials.
• Winners will be selected by the We Honor The Game Here Committee made up of CAHA Board members and Association representatives.
• Awards will be awarded to the in-season winners and to the annual winners.

Nominations are now open for Honor the Game Awards for 2024-25. Please submit your nominations for Player, Coach, Volunteer, and Official Role Models. Your nominee is someone who is an example of Honoring the Game -Respecting ROOTS: Rules, Opponents, Officials, Teammates, Self. Nominations are open throughout the season and end on March 1, 2025.

24 individuals have been awarded CAHA's prestigious Honor the Game ROLE MODEL OF THE YEAR award! These are our finest role models - players, coaches, officials, and volunteers. Please thank them for everything they do to role model the ROOTS behaviors as they HONOR THE GAME in the Carolinas!

We celebrated them in our 2nd annual Role Model of the Year Awards show via Zoom with host Shane Willis from the NHL Hurricanes.
