NC Golden Bears beat Raleigh Raptors 3-2 to win CAHA North Carolina 18U "We Honor The Game Here" State Championship.

Carolina Jr Hurricanes beat Queen City Royals 4-0 to win CAHA North Carolina 16U "We Honor The Game Here" State Championship.

Carolina Jr Hurricanes beat Queen City Royals 2-0 to win CAHA North Carolina 14U "We Honor The Game Here" State Championship.

CAHA has partnered with the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) to foster a culture of respect in our member associations. PCA is a national non-profit organization with the mission of creating a positive, character-building youth sports environment that results in BETTER ATHLETES, BETTER PEOPLE. To do this, we support players, coaches, and volunteers in our Associations who are role models for the principles of “We Honor the Game Here” – Respect for ROOTS - Rules, Opponents, Officials, Teammates, Self.

Mandatory Pre-Tournament Meeting - each team must have a representative (Head Coach or Team Manager only) at this meeting.  We strongly encourage the Head Coaches to attend along with the Team Manager because a lot of this meeting is going over rules and expectations for the Head Coach and teams.  Failure to attend results in the Head Coach being suspended from the first game.  These will be held as follows:

   South Carolina 14U & 16U - Wednesday, February 2 at 8pm via Zoom (link will be sent separately)

   North Carolina 14U & 16U & 18U - Wednesday, February 23 at 8pm via Zoom (link will be sent separately)

Tournament Seedings & Schedule - the seedings will be completed 2 weeks prior to the tournament and we will release the final schedule at that point.  Per Tournament rules, seedings will be determined using MyHockeyRankings 2 weeks prior to the start of the tournament.  Attached is the preliminary schedule for SC and NC.  This is NOT the final schedule.  The final schedule will be released with team names and seeds 2 weeks prior to the tournament.

We Honor The Game Here Awards - each game a player will be named by their Head Coach as a Role Model for ROOTS behaviors - Respect for Rules, Opponents, Officials, Teammates, and Self. The process will be explained at the mandatory meeting.

The CAHA Championship Tournaments are the qualifying tournaments to advance teams to the Southeastern District Tournament and the USA Hockey National Championships.

The tournaments are open to all Tier I and Tier II teams in applicable age classifications.

This registration must be completed by the Head Coach or Team Manager for any team making a declaration for the Southeastern District Tournament and/or the USA Hockey National Championship Tournament or an application to participate in the CAHA Tier II State Championship Tournaments.

All Youth Tier I, Youth Tier II, Girls Tier I and Girls Tier II national tournament bound teams must complete this application.

CAHA will make declarations to the Southeastern District Championship Tournament and the USA Hockey National Championship Tournament based on the number of applications received. If an application is not received in a category/age classification/state, CAHA will not declare a team in that a category/age classification/state to the Southeastern District or USA Hockey.

Teams assuming a bye that do not complete this application, will NOT be entered in the Southeastern District and/or the USA Hockey National Championship Tournament.

Youth Tier II North Carolina: February 24-27, 2022, Charlotte, NC

Youth Tier II 14U South Carolina: February 11-13, 2022, Greenville, SC

Youth Tier II 16U South Carolina: February 5-6, 2022, Columbia, SC

Application/Fee Timeline:

November 1, 2021 - Application/Declaration registration opens.

December 1, 2021 - Application/Declaration registration closes.

January 1, 2022 - Payment due for teams competing in the CAHA Tier II State Tournaments.
