Carolina Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA) is the USA Hockey governing body for ice hockey in the states of North Carolina and South Carolina. Formed in 2000, CAHA's mission is to encourage, foster and promote the development and growth of the sport of amateur hockey in North Carolina and South Carolina.


2020-2021 Grant Final Reports Due April 1, 2020

All Associations that were awarded a 2020-2021 CAHA Grant must fill out a FINAL REPORT that includes how the association met the stipulations, provides a summary of success, a participant list and any necessary documentation such as receipts.

The Final Report is available online at the link below and can be completed as soon as your grant event has concluded and you have your results and documentation.

All final reports are due no later than April 1, 2021.

Vaughn 8U Beginner Goalie Gear

SPECIAL CAHA PRICE AND $50 REBATE PER SET UNTIL APRIL 15

Vaughn is introducing a high-quality set of Quick Change Goalie gear for 6U and 8U. These are only available directly from Vaughn and are not sold through websites or stores at this time. These pads are an important part of attracting new players to the goaltending position. To encourage Associations to purchase these, CAHA is offering a $50 rebate per set to Associations who purchase these by April 15, 2021. The maximum rebate is $300 per Association.

2007 Girls Tryout for Multi District Camp

Carolina Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA) will be hosting a 2007 birth year tryout for female players on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Extreme Ice Center in Charlotte, NC. This tryout is to select girls to attend the Multi District Player Development Camp held this summer. The purpose of this camp is to provide a developmental experience for the players while giving them a chance to compete and develop friendships with players in other Districts in USA Hockey.

Cost: $75

Session Times: 8:00 AM - 9:20 PM and 2:00 PM - 3:20 PM. Players should plan to attend both sessions.

The Girls Multi District Camp will be held August 1-6, 2021 for all players and July 30-August 6, 2021 for all goalies at Bowling Green State University. Click here for more information on the Multi District Camp.

2021 Girls Player Development Tryout

The 2021 Southeastern District Girls Player Development Tryouts will be held May 21-23, 2021 in Nashville, TN. This year's tryout is hosted by Southern Amateur Hockey Association.

The tryout will be for girls in birth years 2004, 2005 and 2006 only.

Positive Coaching Alliance

Positive Coaching Alliance presents the SECOND GOAL PARENT ZOOM WORKSHOP - Developing Winners in Life Through Sports. This FREE workshop will take place on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 7:30 PM via Zoom. CAHA has partnered with the Positive Coaching Alliance to help Associations define and build their organizational culture to be positive, focused on life lessons, and has the kids as their top priority. We have conducted 3 Double Goal Coach - Coaching for Winning and Life Lessons for CAHA coaches and are looking to conduct 2-3 more in the summer/fall of 2021. We want to include the parents in this process and offering this workshop with help parents with the following:

  • To assess their children’s goals and desires in youth sports in comparison with their own
  • How to talk with your child about practices, games and what they are learning through sports
  • How to enact and reinforce PCA’s major principles: Mastery of Sport (Not Just Scoreboard Results), which values effort, learning and bouncing back from mistakes and adversity
  • Filling Emotional Tanks, with the correct mix of truthful, specific praise and constructive criticism
  • Honoring the Game through appropriate sideline behavior and interaction with coaches.
